The pro-life issue has always been close to my heart. Many of you remember the personhood debate we did last fall and the incredible fallout afterwards (get that here). You probably also remember the incredible videos, taken by Lila Rose and Live Action, of abortion industry executives condoning, protecting and supporting sex slavery and sexual abuse of minors. This is an evangelism and discipleship blog but many of you know how I've shared every so often about the issue of abortion. I'm convinced if you're interested in seeing souls saved you'll also have a heart for seeing lives saved. That being said, most of you will remember our now famous debate with the Planned Parenthood college activism group Advocates for Choice. You can see that debate here and get all of our other posts on this issue here! Check out the latest video below! Of course now they're trying to wash their hands of this like they tried after our debate. Unfortunately, this is the way they work. We even have a friend that they did this to (performed her abortion and kept quiet after she became pregnant with an older offender). What makes me so mad is that there is true hope for these precious young women and they stand in the way of that! So take a stand for unborn babies and please share the Good News of God's love and forgiveness with anyone associated with this industry, whether abortion providers or victims. Finally, give to local ministries that are on the front lines with these guys, fighting for life. I encourage you to give to Lifeguard and the Durango Pregnancy Center. Sanctity of Life Sunday is this Sunday, 1/23! If you didn't catch the story yesterday, this will shock you! An abortion doctor is now on trial for severing babies' spinal cords with scissors in order to get rich. What blows my mind is that he is going on trial for this while, had he been a bit earlier and used a different tool he'd be hailed as a champion of women's rights! If you aren't OK with over 1,000,000 american babies being murdered every year in our country please take a stand. Get educated on the issues. Our "End Abortion Now" training video will help you a ton. You should also check out our abortion debate video (this kind of went viral) - it has had over 15,000 views in various forms online. Most of all though, this issue is indicative of hearts searching for Jesus! Check out this woman's testimony and get inspired to share hope with others by this abortion survivor sharing the Good News boldly. Take a stand for those that can't stand for themselves this Sanctity of Life Sunday and don't quit. Sorry I have been gone a few days! I hope you got a chance to read the "I had an abortion" and "Abortion survivor shares the Good News" posts. I don't want to get overly focused on this issue but can't avoid it. Saving souls and saving lives are both high priorities to God and we can follow Him in both those areas. Below is a special training I did on the abortion issues. This video will probably equip you better than any presentation you've ever seen on this topic. I hope so. Here are the notes for this talk.
This is an amazing video. This blog is focused on sharing the Good News and helping Christians share their faith. 1 in 4 of the women around you has had an abortion. It is super important to be able to share the hope they can find in Jesus.
We will be doing this at the Amendment 62 debate on campus, this Wednesday, Oct. 20th, at Noble 125, at 7 pm. Please don't come (there is limited seating and we will put the video up the next day). But PLEASE be praying for us that evening.
Check out this video for a GREAT example of taking a stand, sharing your testimony and telling the Good News all at once. If you live in Colorado PLEASE go to mycampaigntracker.org and sign in using any of your social media accounts and start making a difference. The election is 4 weeks from yesterday! We can take a stand for life on Amendment 62! We can end abortion here. Also, pray for us as we organize a debate on campus with Planned Parenthood (check out the KDUR radio interview from the last "debate" we had with Planned parenthood - the MP3 is below the video clip). All of that being said, listen to this woman preach the Good News boldly and follow her example of using this important issue to also share the gospel! Wow! It has been quite a week. The idea this week is awesome because you will probably not have to do a whole lot to start a conversation (although I hope you won't quit trying). This is super simple. The idea is to wear a great conversation starting Christian t-shirt. Don't pick anything silly but try to pick one that will pique peoples' curiosity. I suggest buying one from liveoffensively.com if you need one (their whole purpose is to create t-shirts that will bring up evangelistic conversations every time you wear them). We met these guys and they are big time evangelists!!! Check out their shirts here. I am going to buy and wear the "Save the Storks" shirt. This will inevitably bring up great conversations about life which you can always, easily, transition to great conversations about Jesus! You could also find some neat shirts here. The point is to wear a great Christian shirt that will get you in to spiritual conversations. If you have a typical office job and if your office does "Casual Fridays," this is a great time to be intentional about doing something easy that will have tremendous fruit (I used to do this at my pre-ministry office job and it was a blast!). So get a good t-shirt, wear it and be ready to share the gospel when people ask what the shirt is all about. Hint: have a tool ready, like the KGP, if you need one.
