5 signs someone is ready to hear the gospel.

Most of us would love to know which people around us are ready to hear the gospel. After years of asking this question, I have learned to look for a few fail-proof signs. Sign #1: Is the person breathing? If the person you are wondering about is dead it is too late (Heb.9:27). If they are alive, go on to the next question to see if they're ready. Sign #2: Is the person a sinner? Unless the person you are wondering about is perfect, they need to hear the gospel. If they aren't perfect (and they aren't) go on to sign #3. Sign #3: Is the person in your sphere of influence? Your sphere of influence encompasses the physical and virtual world you are a part of. You can't share with someone you have never seen, met, crossed paths with or encountered. If the person is in your sphere of influence, go on to sign #4. Sign #4: Is the person sentient? Unless the person is in a vegetative state and unable to communicate, they need to hear the gospel. If they are able to communicate, go on to sign #5. Sign #5: Do you have an opportunity to share with this person (Col.4:5)? If you answered yes to the first 4 questions the answer to the 5th question is also yes. That being said, if you answered yes to all 5 of these questions you can be confident that the person you are wondering about is ready to hear the gospel! This may sound a bit funny but it is true! I used to pray that God would draw people to Himself. Then, it hit me, Jn.12:32-33 promises He is already doing that. He is working on every heart whether it looks like it or not. Now, I must take the initiative, by faith and in the power of His Holy Spirit, to share the Good News with those around me. I hope this silly little checklist encourages you today.
