Everyone Wants to Know About Jesus!!!

I was meeting with Cameron this morning for our weekly discipleship time when we overheard a couple who were eating and talking about God (I love when you have an opportunity like this in a public place - see more here). Other than Cameron and me, they were pretty much the only people in the cafeteria. We could hear every word they were saying. The man said, "I don't think you can get to heaven if you do that." That got my attention so I told Cameron, "we should listen here for a minute." He continued, "the Bible has lists of things that you can do otherwise you'll go to hell. I'm not sure what they are. I really need to get a Bible and find out for myself." We could stand it no longer. I grabbed a Bible from my pack and slid a paper with the gospel from Jesus' own mouth into it. We walked over, excused ourselves for interrupting, told the couple we had overheard them and gave them a Bible. That opened up into a conversation about the gospel. We were able to briefly summarize the gospel as they finished their meal and then said goodbye. Just a short time later I was meeting with the Guy's Leadership "Action Team." As all 10 of us sat there discussing our personal ministries I shared with the group about "B" and "T" who we had just given a Bible to and shared with. I told them, "everyone is interested in Jesus. Whether we hear those conversations or not, they're searching." Remember last week's post on sad college students! Just a couple minutes later Dakota interrupted the Bible study and said, "the girls at the table behind us are talking about Jesus." We all listened more carefully and sure enough, 3 young ladies and one guy were all talking about God and Christianity! Dakota went over to that table, said hi and invited them all to Connect (our weekly meeting tonight). We know theoretically that the harvest is plentiful (Mt.9:37) and that Jesus is drawing every person to Himself (Jn.12:32-33) but it is always encouraging to be able to see that in such a vivid way. I hope these stories encourage you to share Him with those around you!

  2. Thanks Angi! I got your idea about the search box. I tried it a while back and it didn't work. It wouldn't find posts at all. I'll try it again. For now, I put all the evangelism ideas in one post linked on the left hand side under "tons of new evangelism ideas and tools."
