Preach the Gospel... no excuses necessary

Loved ones,

(if you don't have time, just read some of the verses below...you will be encouraged)

We live in a day and age where people need to hear the gospel more than ever. People everywhere are searching for meaning. As followers of Christ, we know exactly what they need, but for some reason we keep quiet. Before Christ ascended into heaven He told His disciples they would be His witnesses all over the world (Acts 1:8). Since then lies have crept in that cause us to believe we are not supposed to share this news. Instead of focusing on the lies I want to see what the Word says and go from there.

In Matthew 4:19 Jesus tells Peter he will make him a "fisher of men." This literally means Jesus was going to show Peter how to reach out to people with the Gospel and attempt to bring them into the kingdom of God. The same way a fisherman tries to bring fish into his net (they used nets back then).

Matthew 9:37 says the harvest is plentiful, but that the workers are few. There are loss souls all around us, but not many people willing to reach out to them.

Matthew 12:34 talks about whatever is in your heart will come out of your mouth. This is a verse for us who say we don't have the gift of evangelism. Get more of Jesus in your heart and you won't be able to help but speak about Him.

Mark 16:15 says to preach the gospel to every creature/all creation/everyone. Doesn't mean we preach to animals, it means we preach to every person. News this good, how can we not tell everyone?

Luke 19:10 Jesus says He came to seek and save the lost. If we follow Him we should be doing the same thing.

John 4:35 tells us to wake up! Look around, the harvest is ripe. This means people are ready to hear the Gospel. What are we waitin for?

In Acts 4:19-20 Peter and John say they must obey God, and that they cannot stop telling about everything they have seen and heard. They were true witnesses. Are you?

Romans 10:13-15 talks about how people need to hear the gospel and they won't hear unless someone tells them.

In 1 Corinthians 9:16 Paul says, "Woe is me if I don't preach the gospel!" That's heavy.

1 Thessalonians 5:19 says do not hinder the Holy Spirit. We do that by not allowing Him to do what He wants in us.

2 Timothy 4:1-2 tells us to preach the Word whether or not the time is favorable. Basically, preach the Word always.

Daniel 12:3 says that those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever. There is a special reward for those who win souls.

Friends, I have made it a point to be more truthful with people about the Gospel. Now, whenever someone I don't know asks me how I'm doin, instead of just saying "i'm fine" I say, " I'm great, been washed white as snow by the blood of Jesus." You should see people's responses. They want to know more. Deep in their hearts they want to have their sins washed away by Jesus too, they just don't know where to start. Go and tell the world how they can be washed by the blood of the Lamb. Grace and peace to you.

The UNWORTHY servant
