Entropy - March 25th, 2009

Rom.8:19-22 - “The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.” Nature itself paints a picture of God and His character (Rom.1:20) and “the heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the works of His hands (Ps.19:1).” Ps.102:26, Is.51:6 and Heb.1:11 all describe the process of entropy, the degradation of the universe, a result of man’s sin (Gen.3:17). But even now, the rocks desire to praise Him (Lk.19:40) and the trees, fields and forests long to sing for joy to the Lord (Ps.96:12, 1 Chr.16:33). The time is coming when He will forgive us and heal our land (2 Chr.7:14), and the curse which resulted from man’s sin will finally be lifted, freeing us along with all creation to praise Him unabashed.
