Scripture tells us to become pure and blameless, be purified through our hope in Christ, keep a pure devotion to Christ, call on the Lord from a pure heart, love from a pure heart, think about what is pure, have pure wisdom from heaven and promises that blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God! (Php. 1:10, 2:15, 1 Jn.3:3, 2 Cor. 11:3, 2 Tim.2:22, 1 Tim.1:5, Php.4:8, James 3:17, Mt.5:8). 1 Jn.3:1-3 says, “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” Purity is something we're called to as believers but something that is rarely seen. In fact, a recent study found that 72% of non-Christians say the church is "full of hypocrites." Interestingly, 72% also said they would be willing to listen to someone share their faith with them! It is time for us to quit giving Christ a bad image and begin following His example of purity! Get more on that in these notes and check out the MP3 below.
