Dealing with Doubt

C.S. Lewis wrote in Mere Christianity that as an atheist there were many nights he went to bed doubting the whole thing but as a Christian there were very few nights he went to bed doubting his faith. He admitted that doubt occurred at times but also realized it had been an even greater issue before he believed. A two-year study of 5,472 college students published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, titled “Religious and Spiritual Struggle,” was completed in 2010. It found that atheists and agnostics were the most likely groups to be angry with God. You'd think people that didn't believe in God wouldn't be mad at him. Not the case. Pretty much every atheist I can think of admits things other than the evidence, like the problem of pain, drove them from faith. The point of this post is to encourage you that as you share your faith, be patient with those you're sharing with and let them know they don't have to wait till they have no doubt to trust God. Also, as a believer, don't let doubt keep you from growing in your faith or sharing that with others. Doubt is part of the human experience and you can beat it. Check out the MP3 below for more on that! Have a great day.
