Happy Tuesday after a long 3 day weekend (for some of you; we weren't "off" yesterday)! I hope you got a chance to check out yesterday's post - I think it really could transform your workplace. Today's idea may as well. This Sunday is National Back to Church Sunday. The idea for today is simple - invite people to church! Dr Thom Rainer says that "82% of the unchurched are at least somewhat likely to attend church if invited." You can get more stats like that here. Also, got to this article on evangelismcoach.org for even more ideas and stats (that's a post you can't miss)! Nobody will kill you for asking. Nearly every student we meet on campus says their family went to school when they were young but quit years ago. I imagine many of the people you find in your sphere of influence are just the same. If you ask them, they'll probably come. And it doesn't end there! After church, don't assume they're good. You will need to clarify the gospel. You could buy them lunch and over lunch ask good questions. "What stuck out most to you from the service today?" "What did you think when the pastor said .... " These questions will bring up a great conversation and if you are intentional you will be able to share the gospel with them. If you are a pastor, remember this weekend is "Back to Church Sunday" and make sure to incorporate the gospel into your message. Here's the challenge: sit down right now and right out 5 people you will ask to come with you to church this Sunday. Well, there will be more posts on this week. I hope you apply yesterday's post along with today's when you get back to work this morning. And if you're a college student, invite other students to church but also invite the to your college ministry get together as it will be a place for them to meet other students and it will likely be a bit more relevant to where they are at. Have a great day sharing the Good News guys!
