Rom.3:3-4 - “What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God’s faithfulness? Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written: ‘So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge.’” God’s faithfulness is an absolute aspect of His very nature - He can not and will not violate this by basing His faithfulness on ours - that would be a dereliction of His own deity. His character and nature are never dependent on mine; neither is His faithfulness subject to mine. Thank God! 2 Tim.2:13 - “If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself.” Scott Stanek would always say, “Don’t relate to God based on your imperfect performance but based on His perfect performance at the Cross.” Even when I am faithless He is faithful. He has walked this same path and was tempted in every way any of us ever have been, yet was without sin (Heb.4:15). He knows where I am at and what I am going through and His grace is sufficient (2Cor.12:9).
