Rom.6:8-10 - “Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over Him. The death He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God.” Jesus conquered death once and for all when He died and was raised on the third day, “death has been swallowed up in victory,” and now we can proclaim, “where O death is your sting?” (1 Cor.15:21-22, 50-57). Christ’s death and resurrection bought me life - spiritually (Eph.2:4-5 - “because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions - it is by grace you have been saved.”) and because of that also physically (Jn.10:10)! Physically living while spiritually dead is a lot like living on life support - technically your alive but you aren’t experiencing true life. When Christ conquered death He destroyed its power in death and also its power in life. Through Him I now experience security in eternity and abundance in the present. Jn.17:3 - “Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” True living, abundantly experiencing life to the fullest, along with the promise of eternity are realized in knowing and loving Him and it is only in that intimate fellowship with my Savior that life becomes life.
